Apply now for Butte College Summer Session beginning June 8 -July 16, and Fall Semester starting August 24. Butte College is offering hundreds of open summer session classes this year and over 1,300 fall semester classes.

"It's never been easier for students to earn a certificate, degree, or transfer more quickly," said Clinton Slaughter, Butte College Admissions Director. "Students can enroll in a class for $46 per unit and attend classes at the Butte College main campus, Chico Center, Glenn County Center, or online."

Some of the classes offered include anthropology, art, business, English, history, math, political science, psychology, life management, and career certificate courses such as business, cosmetology, computer science and drafting.

Students also have a guaranteed transfer to California State Universities with 20 Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees.

"Students can receive a guarantee to transfer into a CSU, with the ability to complete a bachelor's degree in two more years," said Slaughter.
The AA-T and AS-T degrees offer the classes students need to take at the community college level, so they will only need to take upper division courses once they transfer to a CSU. CSUs that are within a student's residential area (such as CSU Chico) are given priority admission consideration.

Current AA-T approved degrees: Anthropology, Art History, Communication Studies, English, Geography, History, Journalism, Kinesiology, Music, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Studio Arts, and Theatre Arts. Current AS-T approved degrees: Administration of Justice, Business Administration, Computer Science, Early Childhood Education, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics.

"Whether your goal is transfer or earning a career degree or certificate, we have plenty of classes available and it's an easy process to get started," said Slaughter. "At Butte College, we can help walk new students through the process of filling out an application and answer questions along the way."

The enrollment fee for California residents is $46 a unit. New students may have enrollment activities to complete prior to registering for classes.
