Artist John RollArt Gallery Features Works by Northern California Artist March 9-April 9
Special Reception March 12, 4-6 p.m.

The Butte College Art Gallery presents The Glass House Series—sculptural work created by Northern California artist John C. Roll over the past 15 years.

This series is an exploration into the overlapping elements of sculpture and architecture—glass houses, specifically. The pieces are born out of the artist's fascination with light, reflections and transparency.

Each sculpture is an aesthetic fragment made up of identifiable parts that describe a particular profession. All of the professions represented here are ones that John Roll has either performed, aspired to, or supported.

John received his MA from CSU Chico after a beginning his career in carpentry and welding. He currently resides in Santa Rosa, where he paints and makes prints in addition to sculptures.
The exhibition runs from March 9 through April 9, with a reception for the artist on Thursday March 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a talk by the artist at 4:30 p.m.

The Butte College Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the Arts Building on the main campus of Butte College. Hours for the Spring 2015 semester are Monday/Wednesday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday/Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
